Ever since Canadian Daniel David Palmer brought chiropractic solutions to the USA in 1895, he was immediately met by skepticism. He further intimated that most of the body’s problems are caused by misalignment of the back. These misalignments blocked the flow of natural energy in the body and realigning the spine would solve this. The “DC” initials earned by chiropractors include four years of Chiropractic College allied to an undergraduate degree of medical alignment.
How It Works
Chiropractors are trained, hands on spinal manipulators and use a supplement of other treatments to ensure proper musculoskeletal structure. The result is relief from pain and a release of tension in the muscles, ligaments and restricted joints. The nature of chiropractic treatment is to help avoid surgery or medication while focusing on what the body has to restore it to full health rather than introducing drugs in the process.
The chiropractor will begin with an exam or scan to isolate the problem or diagnose the source of the pain. The treatment involves one or more manual adjustments, manipulating joints using controlled, sudden and forceful actions to improve the range of function and fluidity of motion.
